A-Game Studios is looking for an experienced Unity programmer with a passion for games to join our exciting new project.  We are seeking an ambitious and self-motivated individual who wants to expand their skillset and be a valued member of a small team with diverse responsibilities. As a startup we offer flexibility and the opportunity for growth as well as the chance to lead a project through all phases of development from concept to shipping on multiple platforms. Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work remotely
  • Must be based in Ontario

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our creative director and the rest of our team to develop and refine our shared vision for a yet-unannounced game
  • Code core systems and gameplay mechanics
  • Integrate all game components (animation, sound fx, etc.) and refine the interaction between them for fluid gameplay
  • Develop and improve various game systems (AI, UI, tools, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the game designer and artists to solve production constraint challenges
  • Optimize and debug game code for delivery on one or more major platforms

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years working as a games programmer in Unity
  • Bachelor's degree in Comp. Sci. / Game Design or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of C# and coding practices
  • Ability to tackle hard problems in creative ways
  • Ability to estimate workload and stay on schedule
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Plays well with others

Bonus Experience:

  • Has worked on both PC and Console games
  • Is familiar with full development cycle from pre-prodcution to post-launch
