New Orleans, LA
New Orleans is in the midst of an economic renaissance. The state wants game development to be a part of that growth, and began offering aggressive tax credits in a bid to lure studios to the area. The credits have been successful in helping land a few game companies in Baton Rouge, and New Orleans is also starting to see some pay off. Gameloft opened a new studio in downtown New Orleans in 2011, and High Voltage and inXile opened in the following years.
