Design Scripter - MMO Games
at Trion Worlds, Inc. in San Diego, California
Trion Worlds is seeking a Design Scripter to establish, implement, and maintain AAA-quality game content for our Syfy Action MMO. The Design Scripter is responsible for constructing fun and exciting encounters and events, using LUA scripts and our proprietary population tool. The Design Scripter also works closely with the engineering staff, and provides aid to fellow designers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement cutting-edge encounters using proprietary population tools and LUA scripts
Collaborate with other designers, artists, and animators to implement highly memorable in-game events
Cooperate with the design teams to provide innovative solutions to design challenges
Provide support for fellow designers
Support prototypes of new encounter functionalities
Write and maintain clean, professional, and maintainable scripts and documentation
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 4 years professional scripting experience; Minimum 2 titles shipped in a designer role
Experience with programming and/or scripting languages; LUA preferred
Extensive experience with game engines and databases
Able to work independently and with minimal supervision when necessary
Strong aptitude for creative collaboration with fellow developers
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
PLUSES
Passion for and experience with multiplayer games, especially MMOs
Experience working on games for consoles, such as PS3, Xbox, etc.
