Generalist Engineer needed at Armature in Austin, TX!

The Generalist Engineer will work closely with the Engineering and Design teams to develop innovative software solutions for our upcoming projects. Relocation assistance within the US is available.

Responsibilities:

• Close collaboration with artists and designers, helping to influence the technical direction of projects.
• Strong generalist with AAA console experience
• Accurately estimates time and effort required for assigned technical tasks and provide regular status updates.
• Contribute to software design process by understanding, analyzing and troubleshooting requirement for own work.
• Demonstrate care and commitment to quality, bug free, software development.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of game industry experience working as a software engineer with at least 1 shipped AAA title
• Proficient in C/C++
• Ability to both work within and learn various scripting languages
• Strong 3D math skills
• Being able to grasp the big picture of how various systems must interact
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to work well under pressure of deadlines.
• Ability to work within a highly dynamic startup environment where team members typically have multiple responsibilities
• Able to work independently with a minimum of supervision
• Strong time management and process documentation skills
• Experience with Jira a plus
• Candidates must have a US work permit or citizenship
