VRGEN is an independent game studio in Aurora, Ontario Canada. We produce outstanding VR and AR content for domestic and international markets. We offer modular free standing units that integrate VR headsets, motion seating and powerful PC’s. We distribute our content to arcades, museums and industrial training facilities.We’re a passionate team aspiring to make compelling game experiences rich in story, emotion, immersion and meaningful gameplay.

Job Description

VRGEN is searching for an experienced and self-motivated software engineer with experience in virtual reality and game development. Our focus is to develop innovative and fun mixed reality, virtual reality and augmented reality experiences. The candidate must be an experienced developer who is comfortable with all aspects of game programming. Past experience with virtual reality is a must. Most importantly, the candidate should be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a small studio environment where they can take on the greater responsibilities involved.

Responsibilities Include

• Prototype, design, and implement new virtual reality gameplay features

• Tackle ANY necessary programming tasks required to ship

• Work closely with designers and artists to implement and debug game features

• Work with and program with hardware such a HTC Vive, Oculus, Hololens, and some hardware you may have never heard of or seen before

• Review new product requirements, provide feedback, and contribute to project planning activities


• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or similar field

• At least 3 years game development experience with strong knowledge of C# and/or C++

• At least 2 years of Unity and/or UE4 development experience

• At least one year of Virtual Reality development experience (Oculus Rift, Vive, Playstation VR, or Gear VR)

• Self-starting and a high level of professional responsibility

• Strong technical and communication skills Additional Desired Skills

• Passion for entertainment in the form of movies, video games and virtual reality

• Game network programming experience is a PLUS
