Technical Team Lead AI-Physics -SFX- Ubisoft Digital Arts

Summary :
The candidate is responsible for the overall vision in terms of physics, artificial intelligence, special effects, and simulations (fluid simulations, smoke, particles of all types, “rigid body”, “soft body”, clothes and hair).
The candidate must be capable of leading a team of AI, Physics, and SFX programmers and managing them to execute the overall vision.
Within the development framework of a real-time "pipeline" for film and video game projects, the candidate will be a part of the decision-making team with management and will have the opportunity to develop new modules to meet the needs of both films and the next generation video game consoles.
Responsibilities :
-Understand the needs of the IT process in terms of physics, SFX and AI development contained in the technical documentation and then to analyze the technical feasibility of each specific feature
-Be a mentor for new employees
-Participate in performance reviews in collaboration with the Pipeline Director
-Analyze the existing physics, AI, and SFX functionalities in the engine and make the appropriate changes
-Propose improvements
-Collaborate with the Technical Director(s) to establish 3D requirements and technical decisions
-Suggest improvements and innovations
-Validate and verify if the physics, AI and SFX systems recently developed meet the specific and general needs of the project and do not create conflicts with the already existing code.
-Perform optimization
-Support features and systems to be created for the production teams
-Determine and correct Physics, AI, and SFX computing problems identified by both the team and the quality control department
-Provide proper documentation
-Approximately 80% analysis, conception and programming, 20% Management
-Perform all other related tasks
Education :
Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
Experience :
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in real-time animation programming or similar experience
General Skills :

Technical Skills:
-Excellent knowledge of all visual aspects required in film and video game production
-Strong knowledge of C/C++ Programming

-Master in optimization techniques
-Good knowledge of vector mathematics and 3D technology
-Working knowledge of Assembler
-Excellent Knowledge of current generation video game platforms
-Knowledge of game engines (commercial or open source) is an asset
