We just had two jobs go up from studios within the Foundation 9 Family!

Double Helix, located in Irvince, Ca, is looking for a Network Programmer. They do a better job than me at explaining what they do, so here’s a direct quote:

“Specializing in large-scale action games based on blockbuster franchises, Double Helix, a division of Foundation 9 Entertainment, develops for all major home console platforms and has worked with a variety of high-profile properties including Star Wars, The Matrix, Indiana Jones, Silent Hill: Homecoming and GI JOE.”

ImaginEngine, located in Boston, is looking for a Creative Manager to work with the studio’s Art department.

“ImaginEngine is a leading brand in the development of children’s titles and value software. We are best known for our award-winning, commercially successful CD-ROMs, online, and casual games. ImaginEngine strives to give kids and adults entertaining tools and experiences to enjoy and express themselves in software and the online world. A small, closely-knit studio, we strategically utilize technology and resources from sister studios in Foundation 9, in order to create great games on time and on budget. As part of Backbone Entertainment, ImaginEngine was one of the founding studios of Foundation 9.”

Make sure and check out all the new jobs!

I’m a little late with this one – NCsoft has actually had ads going up since last week. It looks like they’re hiring for just about every disicipline, at every level, at every studio! They’ve got ads for positions at all of their studios – Carbine, Paragon, NCsoft Austin, ArenaNet and NCsoft Corporate. That covers Seattle, Austin, the SF Bay Area, and Orange County – whew!

It should come as no surprise that looking for a job is a little scary right now (I mentioned that competition is fierce last week). But, there are plenty of opportunities to be had if you know where to look. NCsoft already has 17 openings posted, and there’s more coming. Ubisoft Montreal has posted almost 40!

The tech demo looks incredible, so I immediately fired off an e-mail to them. As it turns out, they’re hiring, and they just posted an ad today! They’re located in Los Angeles, and their bio says, “Giant Sparrow is a tiny video game company focused on creating surreal experiences people have never had before.” Looking forward to seeing what they put out!

We’re also excited about getting over that 100 milestone. Since launching the updated site, we’ve seen a steady increase in both traffic and job ads. Thanks to everyone who has been using the site, we’ve got a lot of interesting things planned in the near future!

Big welcome to 2K Marin, who posted 3 new job ads today! They’re looking for help on Bioshock 2. You can’t ask to be working on something much more high profile than that. As an aside, I think my wife is still upset with me for harvesting too many little sisters.

They definitely have some of the most creative job ad copy that I’ve seen. Here’s a snippet:

“We’re looking for a sorcerer to wield elemental powers: explode with fire, rain down from the heavens, spew blood and ooze toxic vapors. As an FX Artist on Bioshock 2, you will be responsible for creating a kaleidoscopic collage of FX that will add texture, vitality and spark to the dystopia of our game world.”

How could you not want that job?
