Welcome to Naughty Dog

If you’re not sure who Naughty Dog is, there’s a good chance that you’re probably looking at the wrong site.  They need no introduction in the gaming world, and have been behind some of the biggest franchises (Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, Uncharted) of the last 10+ years.  I was pumped to see them add 2 jobs to the site yesterday, so make sure you check them out.  They’re looking for a Senior Character Rigger and a Tools Programmer to work in their Los Angeles studio.  This is a great chance to work on some truly genre-defining titles – have a look, or pass it on if you know someone who might be interested!

Welcome to Blind Squirrel Digital

I noticed a few ads go up the other day from Blind Squirrel Digital (follow them on Twitter), and I knew I recognized the name.  It’s a company run by an old co-worker (Mike Neely)that specializes in animation and other design services.  It turns out they were just joined by another former co-worker (Jeremy Cooper), and they’re now starting to dabble in game development.  They can’t announce exactly what they’re working on yet, but they’re building something using the Unity 3D engine.  They’re looking for both JavaScrpit programmers and a level artist, and it sounds like there are opportunities for expansion of their game dev endeavors.  If you’re in the North Carolina area and you’re looking for a job, make sure and check them out – could be a great opportunity to get involved with a growing organization!

GameJobHunter on Alltop

I discovered Alltop a few months back, and I’ve found myself checking it on a more regular basis just about every week.  If you haven’t seen it, it’s a project from marketing guru Guy Kawasaki.  The concept is pretty simple – it’s a content aggregator that allows you to browse articles form a variety of sources.  For me, it was like an RSS reader that someone had already set up for me.  I’ve found the gaming section to be useful.  It’s easy to quickly scan headlines from just about every relevant gaming site.

Anyways, they just sent me word that the GJH blog is now included in the gaming section.  Pretty cool to be added – now I just need to make sure I’m not derelict in my posting duties!  :)
